Feast Local: bringing the flavours of this place to the table.
What happens when a mountain town decides to make a meal of the season? You feast local.
From October 8th to18th, Revel & Feast invites you to eat your way through Revelstoke with Feast Local - a celebration of the restaurants, chefs, bartenders and culinary legends who are putting our little mountain town on the map with unique culinary creations.
For 11 days, participating restaurants are stepping outside the everyday and putting something special on the table. Think seasonal ingredients, feature dishes, creative cocktails, three-course dinners and a few things you probably won't find on the menu every other Tuesday.
Because a food scene isn't really about the food.
It's about the people behind it.
Meet the local legends
Revelstoke has a habit of attracting people who are curious about food, obsessed with hospitality and willing to do things a little differently.
They're cooking in restaurants, pouring drinks across the bar, making things from scratch, working with local producers and finding ways to bring the flavours of this place to the table.
Feast Local is a chance to meet them through what they make.
At the 112 Restaurant & Lounge, Chef Kamal El Abdouni is bringing a 3 course meal: The Autumn Symphony.
Local wild mushroom duxelle, Enderby fior di latte cheese, tomatoes, roasted squash, deboned duck leg, beluga lentils, artisanal seasonal dessert.
Over at The Woodfire Bistro, new owner Kash is bringing the original to the table. What makes it special is that it isn't a restaurant invention; it's a family dish, made the way an Italian Nonna makes it - slow, generous and full of classic flavor. “It's the meal that welcomed us into an Italian home, and now we'd like to welcome Revelstoke with it”.
Nonna's Polpettone Nonna's Polpettone is a classic Italian meatloaf of seasoned beef and pork, Parmigiano and fresh herbs, served over creamy garlic & Parmesan mash.
Our pals at Spilt Milk are giving the people what they want! Created by “Our Pumpkin Spice Brioche Scroll is a fall-inspired take on a classic café favourite. A soft, buttery brioche dough is rolled with a spiced pumpkin and cinnamon filling, then finished with a creamy pumpkin spice frosting.
Available Oct 10-12 & Oct 17-18
The Taco Club is leaning into the sweeter side of the season with fruity churros and a seasonal pear cocktail—a little fruity, a little autumnal, and very Taco Club. Come for tacos, stay for the unexpected.
Their classic, beloved churros get a delicious taste of fall! This seasonal creation features a plate of our signature filled churros, with cozy flavors like apple, pear, and peach, paired with a pumpkin-spiced dulce de leche sauce for dipping.
Chef Mathieu at your favorite brewery Mt.Begbie Brewing is slowing down with seasonal crops - Inspired by the scrumptious mix of smoked pork and apple for nice seasonal flavours. Inspired by the italian pizzan sandwiches panouzzo with a twist of the seaons. As well as Fall inspired South American classics - empanadas.
Lastly, the reknowned La Baguette is leaning into their wood fired pizza - with a quintissential Revelstoke flavour - A “Chanterelle Pizza”.
White wine cream sauce, sauteed butter chanterelle, prosciutto, Tanto Latte Bocconcini & baby arugula.
Taste the season
October is a particularly good time to eat in Revelstoke.
The farmers' markets are winding down, the days are getting shorter, and the ingredients on the table start to shift. There's something about this time of year that makes you want to eat a little more generously.
Root vegetables. Apples. Mushrooms. Herbs. Preserves. Smoke. Spice. The deep, comforting flavors that make you want to stay at the table.
Feast Local is an invitation to pay attention to what's being cooked right now, and to the people doing the cooking.
So, where should you start?
That's the fun part.
Pick a restaurant you've never tried.
Go back to the place you already love and order the thing you wouldn't normally choose.
Meet a friend for a cocktail.
Make a reservation for three courses.
Or simply wander into town hungry and see where the evening takes you.
There isn't a right way to Feast Local.
There are just good tables waiting to be found.
